Hemingway fix for WordPress 2.1.3

Hemingway is a gorgeous Wordpress theme, but it doesn’t like PHP 5.1.2. If you’ve upgraded to PHP 5.1.2 and your Hemingway theme is now greeting you with a blank page, I’ve got a fix for you. Download this updated functions.php zip file. Installation instructions:

Download the fix.
Unzip it and replace your Hemingway functions.php with the one [...]

Tea garden

While browsing through my iPhoto database I found these beautiful shots from the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate park. Thought I’d upload a few to my Flickr feed (visit Flickr to see the whole set).

Mumbai

We recently visited Mumbai and stayed in one of the hopelessly Americanized resorts there (you know the type, tailored for corporate visitors for the most part). It was beautiful, we were waited on hand-and-foot, and I felt completely out of touch with India.

It was a wonderful visit. I’ll post a bit [...]

Spam death

Two days in and it’s true, spam is dead. In the old Moveable Type days I just ended up turning off comments and trackbacks. In so doing I’ve come to realize that I spend way too much time working, much too little time traveling, and [...]

Ox Locks (or PGP no more!)

I’ve been putting up with the commercial version of PGP for OS/X for some time now — chiefly so that I would have a reliable, military-grade encryption of virtual disks. PGP looks great at first blush and, usually, works great too. Unfortunately, it’s commercial, getting more expensive and lately it’s been plagued by a number [...]
