Halfway between the gutter and the stars
Within mere hours of of Kenya Airways Flight 507 going down, the world knew about it. My own dashboard showed me an alarmingly large red circle in my Buzztracker, noting a major event of world news.
It’s truly amazing that we’ve reached a level of technology and information sharing that we have a near consensus-awareness of what’s happening in the world. If only we could also achieve a consensus on what should be done about it.
I see now, just a few days latter, Buzztracker is showing me an all-to-familiar picture of world affairs. Strong lines of chaos reach between Washington D.C. and Iraq and the Gaza strip. Little has changed in the past five or six years, except that now the U.S. as a whole has become as disgusted with this war as the rest of the world.
And thanks to Fatboy Slim, from whom I swiped the title of this post. One of my more favorite albums.
