Bush couldn’t care less…

President Bush, facing opposition from both parties over his plan to send more troops to Iraq, said he has the authority to act no matter what Congress wants. “I fully understand they could try to stop me from doing it. But I’ve made my decision. And we’re going forward,” Bush told CBS’ “60 Minutes” in an interview to air Sunday night. — Fox News

Doesn’t it just make you feel all snugly and warm inside knowing that we have a President that knows what’s best for us, even when the whole world opposes him?

You’d think he might start listening when his own party starts to distance themselves. For instance, Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, said last week the he feared Bush’s plan would be the worst foreign policy blunder since the Vietnam War. That’s saying a lot.

I agree that a full pull-out in Iraq would be a debacle — one that, unfortunately, we would never have been faced with if not for Bush’s complete incompetence in the first place. Nevertheless, simply sending more troops is just adding fuel to the fire. It’s time for Bush to step aside and let more intelligent people make the big decisions. If that happened, I’d dance a little Jig of Joy.

Of course, it’s just a dream, but if he actually stepped down as President I’d positively slam dance in ecstasy. Of course, that won’t happen — where most competent men would be able to recognize their inadequacies and correct them, Bush blindly stumbles on…
