Moveable type 3.2

The new release is out and, finally, working correctly. I haven’t been doing much blogging in part because of a horrendous work schedule, and in part because Movable Type 3.2 was totally broken out the gates. Fortunately Six Apart finally found a solution so I am once again blogging.

So what’s new in 3.2? The most interesting features that I’ve discovered so far are spam prevention and the new themes engine. The former is actually pretty good at pre-classifying all the spam trackbacks and comments — realistically, if I take a look at the flood of incoming garbage about once a month it keeps it pretty well under control. The theme engine is a nice improvement over the old system, too — not that I change themes often, but at least I was able to browse through a few styles and select one I cared for with relative ease.
