Most repulsive billboard

I’ve seen a lot of inappropriate billboards — and a few outright offensive ones — driving around Los Angeles. But today I’ve seen one that really takes the cake, from Jiffy Lube. The headline is “Making sure nobody walks in Los Angeles.” Doesn’t this perfectly epitomize everything that’s wrong with the transportation attitude (and situation) [...]

They aren’t really evil, they’re just drawn that way

Not that I expect the CEO of Microsoft to act any differently, but is it really necessary to resort to physical violence and threats in today’s corporate giants? Really when it comes right down to it, I imagine that it’s something of a mob mentality — if the organization is threatened they’ll lash out to [...]

OS/X is turning into Gnome

And now, iTunes 5.0 comes with the new “Polished Metal” look (and for some reason has a peculiar window shape that no longer sports Apple’s classic curved edges). Yet another example of the lack of consistency and, I fear, the continued slide toward mediocrity. Someone please prove me wrong.

A taoist view of music

If I didn’t already have an iPod and an iPod Shuffle, I’d want one of these. As a matter of fact, I think this is the ideal evolution of both. The iPod is a little bit too big and the Shuffle is a little bit too limited — enter the gorgeous new iPod nano. The [...]

Mail doesn’t work

I’m really, really getting sick of how bad Apple’s Mail application is. Of course, I’m writing this after the third crash today, so I’m a bit more annoyed than usual.
Let me be clear, though: I love Apple Mail. It’s ability to index, quickly search, support virtual folders and treat all my mail accounts as — [...]
