It’s kind of odd to hear “dropping out” mentioned favorably at a Stanford commencement speech, but that’s what Steve did according to Wired:
PALO ALTO, California — Steve Jobs told Stanford University graduates Sunday that dropping out of college was one of the best decisions he ever made because it forced him to be innovative — even when it came to finding enough money for dinner.
Personally, I think this advice is likely well taken by those attending and thinking about dropping out. I started my first company while in college. It’s a hard decision, staying and learning theory for years or jumping feet-first into a perceived opportunity.
